Navigating the school system, therapy waitlists, and caregiver burnout is a full-time job most families didn't sign up for. The Kes Foundation's Autism Support program provides practical, sustained support for autistic children and their families — IEP advocacy, autism therapy referrals, parent cohorts, and respite care so caregivers can rest.
What Families Receive
- IEP advocacy — a trained navigator attends every IEP meeting with you. Families never walk into school meetings alone.
- Autism therapy referrals — connections to sliding-scale OT, speech therapy, and ABA-alternative specialists. We follow up to make sure the referral landed.
- Parent support groups — monthly cohorts specifically for Black and brown families of autistic children. No code-switching required.
- Respite care — quarterly weekend programs so caregivers can rest, and children can play with peers.
- Special education advocacy — help understanding your child's rights under IDEA and how to push for the accommodations they're entitled to.
Who This Is For
The Autism Support program is designed for families of autistic children who are:
- Navigating an IEP process for the first time or fighting for better services
- Waiting for therapy appointments and need connections now
- Experiencing caregiver burnout and need respite
- Looking for an autism parent support group that reflects their community
- Trying to understand special education law and their child's rights
We work with families navigating school systems, therapy waitlists, and the daily weight of caregiving. You don't need a specific diagnosis or income level to reach out.
