Specialized autism therapy — feeding therapy, music therapy, equine therapy, intensive ABA, speech therapy beyond what insurance covers — can cost thousands of dollars out of pocket. Families with resources pursue these options. Families without them often can't. The Kes Foundation's Therapy Access Fund provides direct grants to close that gap, helping families afford the autism therapy funding and out-of-pocket care that insurance won't cover.
What Families Receive
- Direct care grants — one-time and recurring grants applied toward specialized therapies, evaluations, and supports that insurance denies or underfunds
- Family-directed funding — families know their child best; we help fund the care plan they build with their own providers
- Navigation support — plain-language help weighing therapy options, costs, and what questions to ask, so no family carries the decision alone
- Insurance denial support — guidance on appealing denials and identifying alternative funding sources when insurance falls short
Who This Is For
The Therapy Access Fund is for families who:
- Have received an insurance denial for autism therapy and need help covering out-of-pocket costs
- Face high copays or deductibles that make approved therapy unaffordable
- Need a therapy type that insurance doesn't cover — music therapy, equine therapy, feeding therapy, complementary care
- Are waiting for Medicaid waivers and need interim support
- Simply cannot afford the cost of the care their child needs
We do not require a specific diagnosis or a prior insurance denial to apply. If your family needs help paying for autism care, reach out.
